    The cheek of some of the commenters, though! “I think I can improve it” – do you also remake blockbuster movies in your back yard? Tear out the last pages of detective novels and insert your own solution for Poirot to declaim in the drawing room? Sod right off.

      It’s a funny thing that people who make unsolicited claims that they can improve formal poetry (random readers, I mean, not in workshops) never seem to keep the form– almost as if they hadn’t noticed it was there.
